"The Rumors Were True" is an original acrylic on canvas (30x40") painting by Danny Warhole in 2025.
The painting sets out to capture the queer haven that was Palm Springs in the 1950s and 1960s, drawing inspiration from the Mid-Century Modern lifestyle captured in vintage copies of magazines like Palm Springs Life and the photography of Slim Aarons, particularly the photograph, "Poolside Gossip" taken at the Kaufmann House around 1960.
The back of the painting is titled, signed and dated by the artist.
The painting is 30" x 40" and comes in a pine floater frame constructed and stained in a mahgoany by the artist specifically for this piece. The frame is .75 inches thick and has a depth of 1.5 inches. The back of the frame is equipped with D-rings and a wire hanging system.
